Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, Nikole Texidor is currently recording "The Power of Yang", a collections of songs she wrote in the last 3 years about a few key male figures that have greatly influenced her in her life positively and negatively. The new EP will be ready for eager ears in early 2010.
The project commenced in May 2009 in Victoria with producer/engineer/singer-songwriter Corwin Fox.

DECEMBER 2009
Back in the studio for the final touches on the album before we start mixing. Tobias Meis recorded his bass last week and Manj Benning is coming over to record Tablas and Dilruba next week. I have decided to add a new version of my mom's all time favorite song "Pantyhose" because it's just so groovy. This album had a 9month gestation period. I will give birth to it in January 2010.

Why is it taking so so long?
Because I'm doing a pay-as-you-go recording deal. It's very slow. I stop to work to save then pay, then take time off to record, then go back to work to save and pay and start again.
This exceptional musician by the name of "My Lovely Son" is releasing his debut album and I will be joining him on November 7th at the Cornerstone Cafe in Victoria for his CD release.
SEPTEMBER 09
Rehearsals are scheduled for September and October for the final recording in November.
AUGUST 09
After being on the road for three weeks, playing various festivals from Diversity Fest to Artswells to SurgeFest across BC with KarmetiK::Bhutan and solo, NikTex went back to Mr.Fox's studio to continue with the creation of The Power of Yang. It took and interesting turn, taking shape with heavy percussion, becoming a little more complete, soon to see the light...in the Fall.
